Our study involved 74.2 million English-language Twitter messages – or tweets – from 2015 to 2017 in New Southern Wales.

We analysed them using the openly available We Feel device, developed by the CSIRO and the Black Canine Institute, to see if social media can accurately map our feelings.

Some 2.87 million tweets (or 3.87%) included words or expressions considered upset, such as "vicious", "disliked", "inflamed", "ashamed" and the incredibly popular "f*cked".Typically, the variety of upset tweets were highest when the temperature level was listed below 15℃, and most affordable in warm temperature levels (25-30℃).

The variety of upset tweets slightly enhanced again in very heats (over 35℃), although with less days because range there was much less assurance about the pattern.

On the 10 days with the highest everyday maximum temperature levels, the average upset tweet matter was 2,482 each day. Of the 10 chilliest days, the average upset tweet matter was greater at 3,354 each day.
